I always liked talking moose. I don't like the profile of the 3d character. It looks like a human face with this huge mooselike nose. I would like to see the mouth brought out to meet the end like on a real moose. I know this is really hard though, and you've done an awesome job so-far!

The nose and jaw have not been captured just right from the concept art. Where the nose meets the head should not be so thin. This is giving the nose the droopy feel not present in the concept. Also, in the concept the jaw and chin are longer helping to add much needed weight to the nose. The concept has chin hair that helped the profile and the head sits up higher on the neck wich is shaped as though the moose stands upright. In the 3D, the moose looks mounted on a wall. Much cuteness is lost in trying to have realistic eyes. Big bubble eyes make the character. The moose can express himself with the eyes, but his "at rest" position should be wide, oval eyes with small black pupils. Teeth should probably be a solid row of large teeth. Trying to make individual teeth in cartooning is tough especially when going for "cute". The antlers could be set a bit higher on the head to remain more true to the original. Good luck!

So glad to see someone is resurrecting the Talking Moose; it was truly one of the greatest pieces of software ever written for the mac. I hope you hold true to its roots; the voice was hilarious, and making him talk whatever gibberish you typed in was comical.

As far as the 3D design goes, you MUST capture his cheesy, toothy grin. His cheesy grin after he said something was priceless, and the images above don't quite do it justice. It was as if his grin was comedic, waiting for a response from the 'audience'.

I hope your project works out, and I'd gladly pay $5 for it on the App Store if it's done right, and holds true to the original. You can't improve upon the moose; please don't try. :)

yeah, it kind of looks like an Orville Reddenbacher moose!

I would like to see eyes smaller overall, less human-like, and not set so close (narrow distance between eyes).

Great job, but agree with everyone. More cartoonish!!

I'm impressed with all the effort you've gone to to make the character cute, but I think the main charm of the original moose was the jokes, like: You are getting sleeeeepy . . . your eyelids are growing heavier and heavier. What I'd like to see is a contest for funny remarks the moose could come up with.

The amateur-like, roundness of the original character had a familiarly and spoofy appeal that this one lacks. Appears more elderly, although it does appear friendly.

The amateur-like simplicity and roundness appears lacking. Youthful and impish looked endearing, your latest, although friendly looking, does appear more elderly.
