For PC’s, an old’ish version 5 is available for free download http://www.halls.md/moose/ This is the 2007 version.

(This is the version you can also find on Softpedia or other similar sites that copied from softpedia, but its safer to get it from halls.md).
For Mac’s, you can get Uli’s Moose http://www.zathras.de/angelweb/moose.htm
Since 2007, a new version has been slowly under development, and a lot of its features are working very well, but that version is not available for general public distribution. I’ve decided that it won’t be released again until its completely rewritten with 3D animation, great voices, international multi-language, and a fantastic modern user interface for the new control panel.
However, the VB6 version is gradually improving, but not available for release at the moment. Here’s a rough approximation of what the 2D moose was looking like, when work stopped on it in 2010. ( All effort now is going toward the 3D version.)

March 3, 2012 update. An important discovery: There is a way to actually run the old old original Talking Moose again. See that link.
