June 21, 2019. Moose is fully updated and working absolutely fine. I think the cigarette suggestions are starting to take effect as I’m seriously planning a quit day very soon. Jenny S. (alpha tester).
May 31, 2019. I suffer from bad anxiety, and it manifests itself in various behaviors that I am now learning to recognize as anxiety.
I look forward to the constant positive reinforcement from Moose to stay calm, put things in perspective, take 5 minutes to stop and refocus.
I keep Moose running wherever I am. I find that I can can spiral fairly quickly if something triggers me. Moose is that voice is outside myself, which works effectively to “jolt” me out of my negative head space. I stop, process and regroup.
When anxiety creeps up on me, my internal dialogue is very counter productive. Hearing Moose’s voice is a subconscious mental note to take a step back from what I’m over thinking at the moment, as I now associate Moose with calming. Highly Recommended. Tammy R. (alpha tester)
May 30, 2019. I have the Moose on most of the time when I’m at my laptop working and I found an initial dramatic reduction in the urge to smoke, however, over time that effect has lessened a bit.
But my anxiety has hugely decreased. I never used to suffer from anxiety and have always been very laid back and adventurous. Then menopause hit and the biggest factor for me has been this quite intense anxiety over anything and everything. However, over the last couple of weeks, there has been such a marked improvement that I feel almost back to my old self despite the same outside stressors (sick daughter with a lot of hospital appointments and son almost dropping out of his baccalaureate in the last term). It really has been quite remarkable and I haven’t changed my diet or any other lifestyle factors but I am not over-analysing or catastrophising like I had been for a good few months.
I think it may be a good idea for alpha testers and other users to keep a log of what time settings they have the health reminders set at because I guess there is some kind of ideal. I have had a lot more anti-smoking messages than anxiety. The effect of the no smoking was initially stronger then wore off whereas the anti-anxiety messages didn’t seem to have an initial dramatic effect but over the last week or so the difference is immense.

May 17, 2019. I love how this is going! The Moose is already a friend, counsellor, motivator, teacher, news reader, comic, weatherman, prompter, secretary and companion all rolled into one! The new updates would make the capabilities of Moose virtually unlimited! Biji G.

May 7, 2019. After having several laptop (moose unrelated) issues I finally have it running and working so far! All the features have been working fine and I have seen no errors, however there are a few layout/access features…
Otherwise, the moose has already brightened up my and other’s days who have seen it in use . Sarah L.
May 6, 2019. The setup went very smoothly! Overall it made a very good impression. The program ran well in general and the jump feature was very clean.
Also, I happened to get a news bulletin just now and I wanted to say I think it’s quite impressive. Kai G. (alpha tester)
May 4, 2019. I like Moose. I’m using the Eva voice which is very soothing. I set her to random intervals and it’s just the right amount of Moose. Not too much, not too little.
There were a few times she popped up while I was on a call, sitting by the computer. It would be a nice addition to be able to immediately mute her or cause her to go away during those times. [Dr. Halls: I pointed out the right-left-right mouse gesture.]
There’s a nice set of options to choose from in terms of what things you want to hear and I really like that you can input your own stuff and plug in details like your name and she’s able to speak what you type.
To recap, my first impression of Moose is a great one. Thanks, Mary. (alpha tester)
April 27, 2019. Initial impressions. Everything seems to be working smoothly. I’m blown away by the sheer amount of content. Going through and customizing different things now. Lucy B. (alpha tester)
April 12, 2019. Hi Dr Halls, The moose has been running in the background whilst I work and there are absolutely no problems. I set it to auto startup and ‘always visible’ and both work fine.
Interestingly, I really think the Moose works on anxiety and stop smoking settings. I know that some of the sentences are a bit random and that is the point of subconscious absorption of the information.
I have battled with nicotine addiction for many years. Stopping for years or months at a time but always returning to the wicked weed. I am in a period of smoking again at the moment with vague thoughts of stopping. However, after having moose in the background for days my desire to smoke has hugely gone down. I was not expecting that at all really. Jenny S. (alpha tester)
